Golf Course History
An acclaimed Dan Maples–designed championship course (with greens shaped by Larry Young/Mike Strantz) nestled on former rice-plantation land next to the Waccamaw River, framed by ancient live oaks and marshland.
Heritage Course Very Historic Feel.
It is a beautiful old course that looks like it might once have been a private club. Before that it was probably a plantation lending to a very historic feel.
The course layout is winding through the old growth woods and several of the holes are very narrow. Even though we played on an overcast day with intermittent rain we still had a great day.

Beautiful!!! Worth the drive! to Pawley's Island
It is a beautiful and scenic course! It was like being in a historical setting. You literally feel like you are going back in time to a desolate setting. Beautiful!!! Worth the drive!

Heritage Course Has a lot of History
Greens rolled true and were fast but fair. Saw an alligator on the first tee and another one swimming in a lake later in the round. Great layout. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only drawback is the cart you have to take to the driving and putting range and the parking lot. This was a rice plantation at one time and the clubhouse looks like the plantation house. Beautiful sweeping staircase when you walk in the front door. We got Breakfast, lunch and 2 beers or fountain drinks with our round. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful serving our food quickly both for breakfast and lunch. Many interesting holes during the round and be sure to read about the slave cemetery you tee off over on one of the par 3s. This is a must play course.

Best Course Grand Stand
The course is in great shape and most holes are extremely interesting whether you play from the tips, whites, or senior tees. Definitely one of the best courses in the area.

Love Heritage Golf
Have played this course several times but last week in the best shape I can remember. Thanks teelinks, you made my group of 24 feel special and when I had a problem with meal tickets, which was probably my fault, you guys went out of the way to make sure I was happy with the outcome. Once again playing surfaces from tee, to fairway to green best I have seen in several years.

Best Course in Pawley's Island
We were a two some and got paired with a regular single that was a great guy and gave us the tips on each hole.
The course was in amazing condition. Greens were perfect, running 9 on the meter. Fairways were a bit long but only because they had had 8 days of some rain and mowing had been difficult. But the course is amazing. All the holes have something to offer in terms of shot placement or carries or just plan fun. Hole 18 is amazing. Watch out for all the gators on the course.
Have played 40+ golf course in the Grand Strand area and this was my favorite course I have played.
