Golf Course History
An acclaimed Dan Maples–designed championship course (with greens shaped by Larry Young/Mike Strantz) nestled on former rice-plantation land next to the Waccamaw River, framed by ancient live oaks and marshland.
🔥 Heritage – The Toughest Holes
Hole No. 4 – 440-yards, Par 4
Considered the course’s hardest hole, per the assistant pro and local consensus.
Requires a forced carry off the tee. Oak trees squeeze the left, bunkers guard the right, and the small, bunkered, multi-tiered green offers little margin for error
Hole No. 13 – 228-yards, Par 3
A dramatic water carry to a peninsula (or island‑style) green, protected by pot bunkers and water.
Demands club selection precision; the green has unique contours—including a “Volkswagen” mound in the middle
Hole No. 18 – 506-yards, Par 5
that tempts risk–reward strategy. Players may reach in two over water or lay up for a safer wedge.
The green’s multi‑tiered design complicates putting with severe undulation

Best Course out of all 5 Courses
This course is beautiful so scenic and the backups are as bad as the other legends courses. Oyster Bay is the worst course stay away.
