Oyster Bay is a harmonious blend of the penal, heroic and strategic philosophies of golf course architecture. You will be amazed by the array of picture perfect holes, as exemplified by the spell-binding 13th. Bold tee shots and well measured approaches are required to play this Champion of North Carolina.
Many golfers return here, year after year, with a hearty appetite to enjoy the pristine beauty, links style course, and the ever-popular risk/reward signature holes. One signature hole is #13, a 330-yard par 4, featuring a lake that skirts the entire right side of the fairway. This requires an approach shot to a cunning undulating green resting against an oyster shell wall that rises out of the lake.
Be prepared to bring your short game to Oyster Bay, as accuracy around the greens is crucial. The other signature hole is #17, a 165-yard par 3, requiring a tee shot from an oyster shell-walled tee box to an island green built on a mountain of shells. The marshland at Oyster Bay presents a menu of challenges, so be prepared for a great feast of golfing delights … or you may find yourself in the bay plucking and shucking the oysters you will find there.

Course in Good Shape
Well maintained and in great off-season shape considering the recent heavy rains. A few pin placements were tough because of muddy edges on some of the greens. The ranger kept everything moving and we finished the round in the suggested time. Beautiful views.
And saved some money with some great tee-time booking deals.

Oyster Bay Poor Customer Service
We have played this course many time but this last time was definitely a disappointment. The course wasn’t in great condition and the customer service was even worse.

Oyster Bay - a good Value
a good value, package included breakfast, lunch and drinks. We were given wet cold towels on a hot day. Bring your best golf, not a gimme course. Will play again or try another legends course like Heritage or Moorland. Didn’t care for the plastic forks for breakfast.
