TPC Myrtle Beach Golf
Players weave their way through forests of red oak and pine, around Lowcountry marshes and picturesque wetlands on fairways as plush as carpet. Miss the fairway and you’re setting yourself up for a long day; the mounding and swales that sit on the periphery make for some tough play. Many fairways are tree lined, with ample landing areas off the tees. But trees aren’t all you’ll find out here; water comes into play on at least 11 holes, whether it’s a lake or wetlands.
World Tour Golf Course
Now you can experience the thrill of playing 27 holes inspired by some of the world’s most famous layouts; Pine Valley, Augusta National, St. Andrews. They’re all here and more. Each turn takes you to a special place and the memories of great shots you’ve seen in tournaments played around the world. You can travel the globe and spend a fortune in airfare and greens fees or you can tee off here and see the world from Myrtle Beach. The Open nine includes holes inspired by St Andrews, Pinehurst, TPC Sawgrass, Colonial, English Turn, Pine Valley, Augusta, and National Golf Club of Canada. Seven holes have water in play (including island greens on the third (TPC Sawgrass # 17) and fifth (English Turn par four # 15), and 42 sand bunkers are scatted about the layout.
Rivers Edge Golf Course
This course is a “Hidden Gem”, an Arnold Palmer design. A few of the holes are difficult including the peninsula hole number 9 – a five star and worth playing again. A lot of fun to play. The views from this course are unbeatable with lots of interesting water holes and challenging shots in the midst of beautiful landscape.
Grand Dunes
Grande Dunes Resort Club is a spectacular layout by Roger Rulewich located on a high bluff that creates a spectacular view of the Intra-coastal Waterway. The large subtle rolling Bermuda grass fairways leading to large Champion Bermuda grass greens that have recently been changed over from L-93 Bent.
The maintenance is superb. 5 holes along the Intracoastal Waterway are on high buffs with ocean breezes blowing across the course.
Kings North Golf Course
The layout is fantastic, lots of water, lots of tee choices. Most important thing is that there are MANY memorable holes. King’s North is a great test of golf and is beautiful in the process. The course has really gone the extra mile making the course pretty as well as playable. Standout holes are the 6th (The Gambler) and the 12th and the signature par 3 on 11 with the island green ! A challenging layout for all handicaps of golfers. Lots of water and sand. The 4th, 7th, and 17th holes are enjoyable.
Thistle Golf Course
The dramatic 27-hole layout reflects its 1815 Scottish heritage with rolling fairways, stacked-sod bunkers and flawless bentgrass greens. Old World architecture, abundant landscape and wildlife surround the lakes, bridges and private homes. The new clubhouse features an authentic Scottish pub with an extensive list of single malts and houses one of the finest private collections of golf memorabilia in the world. Thistle was founded on 12 minute tee times to ensure an enjoyable and relaxed pace of play year round.
Pearl West Golf Course
Quality golf courses that is very challenging and always in great condition. Located along a waterway with majestic views of Calabash River. The Pearl East and West courses are on my “A-list”. Tee boxes are lush and green, greens are fast and, well…..green! No painted surfaces here. Now I see why they host many Pro & amateur events on these courses. Two very different 18hole layouts that will challenge every level of golfer, and the courses are always in best shape.
Barefoot Fazio Golf Course
The Fazio course located on the Barefoot golf resort is not a British links land course, but rather a classic Low country course, filled with live oaks, pines, sand, natural areas and native grasses. The Fazio course has been strategically designed, incorporating extensive tree cover and many lakes into the landscaping. Waste areas and formal bunkers have been handcrafted and placed for visual and strategic effect, while natural elevation changes add a sense of drama and excitement the to golfing round.
True Blue Golf Course
True Blue is one of the most creative golf courses you’ll ever play and certainly one of the most artistic. Fairways, bunkers, and greens feature sweeping edges that rise and fall as if Stranz used his brush stroke to shape the terrain. Unless you’ve played other Stranz courses, you’ve likely never encountered greens like this before with some of the most unique shapes and sizes in the country. Unlike many other modern architects that rely on lumpy undulations throughout the green to create a putting challenge, Stranz puts in lengthy tilts in his putting surfaces and demands players to properly judge the slope and speed for longer distances.
Blackmoor Golf Course
Blackmoor is a must play in the Myrtle Beach area. It’s creative, well maintained and extremely friendly. Everyone does a little of everything. An assistant golf professional was working the bag drop, while another was working the counter. Seniority doesn’t determine who does what. It rotates.
The par-3 15th hole at Blackmoor Golf Club rejects anything that doesn’t land and stay on the green.
