Legends Moorland course is fun to play because it is different than traditional course with a Par of 72. The challenge at Moorland rests primarily with its greens, which are among the largest and most undulating in SC. This course measures 6,799 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 128 and a 73.1 course rating.
Dye pulls out all the stops at Moorland: massive areas of natural growth, sand, water, and waste areas. The course emits the influence of the PGA West Stadium Course. Each hole is unique in layout and approach and will create lasting memories. One of which is the controversial par-4 16th hole, nicknamed “Hell’s Half-Acre,” which will leave you scratching your head for days! Come play one of the most enjoyable and well-maintained courses in the area! Moorland will cause you to rise to incredible heights on the sculpted hills and sink to considerable lows in the bunkers. Moorland has rightfully achieved designation as one of the “Top 10 New Courses of 1990” and one of “America’s 50 Toughest Golf Courses” by Golf Digest. On the par-5 15th, a definite 3-shot hole, the closer you get to the green the more narrow the landing area becomes. The green is very deep and three-tiered which will make your pin placements very tricky. The last hole, a par-4, should favor the right with a slight draw. A large mound on the right of the green blocks the player’s view of a portion of the green, which is large than appears on the second shot.
