I came here for a tournament. I drew this as one of my 4 courses. Once you get past the undulations, hidden bunkers, pot bunkers, craters, tilted fairways and 6 inch deep bent grass roughs, you are greeted by elevated greens with elevation changes that will roll your ball off a 20 foot drop-off in a hurry. One such hole had an elevated green 15 vertical feet above the fairway that, if you didn’t nail the chip, you were over the other side. I planted two chips on the edge of the green only to see them roll back to my club, 15 feet back again.
Ok, I promise to come back and tame this monster. I really think that’s the whole idea of the design. Good golfers will be driven nuts, bad golfers will want to drink a lot, medium level golfers will want to go home to their home courses and kiss the grass.

We were a two some and got paired with a regular single that was a great guy and gave us the tips on each hole.
The course was in amazing condition. Greens were perfect, running 9 on the meter. Fairways were a bit long but only because they had had 8 days of some rain and mowing had been difficult. But the course is amazing. All the holes have something to offer in terms of shot placement or carries or just plan fun. Hole 18 is amazing. Watch out for all the gators on the course.
Have played 40+ golf course in the Grand Strand area and this was my favorite course I have played.

Have played this course several times but last week in the best shape I can remember. Thanks teelinks, you made my group of 24 feel special and when I had a problem with meal tickets, which was probably my fault, you guys went out of the way to make sure I was happy with the outcome. Once again playing surfaces from tee, to fairway to green best I have seen in several years.
The guys really enjoyed the courses and meals. We will definitely play legends again. The 2 bedroom villa was nice too.
Moorland course is very different for Myrtle Beach. A lot of dirt was moved to create holes that you really have to see to appreciate. Some elevated greens that seem like they are a mile in the sky. Course is a little tricky in spots the first time you play it. Don’t purchase the passport it isn’t worth the cost. Nice courses at legends, my favorite being the Heathland. Moorland was playable and fun.
The course is in great shape and most holes are extremely interesting whether you play from the tips, whites, or senior tees. Definitely one of the best courses in the area.

a good value, package included breakfast, lunch and drinks. We were given wet cold towels on a hot day. Bring your best golf, not a gimme course. Will play again or try another legends course like Heritage or Moorland. Didn’t care for the plastic forks for breakfast.
thanks for sharing. Are their any good videos you can recommend to help?
This is by far the best out of the 5 legends courses. And with breakfast, lunch and 2 drinks included it is a great value.
We have played this course many time but this last time was definitely a disappointment. The course wasn’t in great condition and the customer service was even worse.
Are there any specials for tee-times midweek?
I purchased the Titleist 917 D2 Driver and this really helped my golf game.
Heathland is the easiest of the three courses on site, very playable and nice course. I will definitely have to play the other courses in NC and Pawleys Island Myrtle Beach.
Greens rolled true and were fast but fair. Saw an alligator on the first tee and another one swimming in a lake later in the round. Great layout. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only drawback is the cart you have to take to the driving and putting range and the parking lot. This was a rice plantation at one time and the clubhouse looks like the plantation house. Beautiful sweeping staircase when you walk in the front door. We got Breakfast, lunch and 2 beers or fountain drinks with our round. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful serving our food quickly both for breakfast and lunch. Many interesting holes during the round and be sure to read about the slave cemetery you tee off over on one of the par 3s. This is a must play course.
I think this is the best legends course! It ranks # 1 out of the 5 courses. Heritage is probably next best. Looking to get a golf round end of Aug for 8 players? Prefer early morning if possible.
love Pier 14 Restaurant.
Awesome ocean views while enjoying a fantastic meals. Best ribs I have ever eaten! Great customer service
I like the CaddyTek SuperLite Deluxe Golf Push Cart.
It is a beautiful and scenic course! It was like being in a historical setting. You literally feel like you are going back in time to a desolate setting. Beautiful!!! Worth the drive!
Moorland was the best, followed by Parkland and Heritage – wasn’t impressed with Oyster Bay – the course fell short and customer service was even worse. The courses for the most part were beautifully manicured and challenging courses, yet still playable by most (Traveled with my wife and sons and I began playing a few years ago and usually hits in the 110 range and still found them playable). We also played two other Legends, not in the resort – Heritage, not manicured like Moorland, but beautiful…shades of Augusta in this one. Oyster Bay, short and a little disappointing compared to the other legends courses.
It is a beautiful old course that looks like it might once have been a private club. Before that it was probably a plantation lending to a very historic feel.
The course layout is winding through the old growth woods and several of the holes are very narrow. Even though we played on an overcast day with intermittent rain we still had a great day.
I think we would have enjoyed if they didn’t pack us in like sardines. It was the absolute slowest round ever with a couple groups running amok. Legends just packs them in and they are concerned with the experience of the players. Yes, it includes the breakfast and lunch deal and 2 drinks but this will ensure our group won’t be back anytime soon
We enjoyed our vacation in central Myrtle beach.
Love Heritage club but Moorland is my favorite but you will love the old plantation that heritage is build on. Going to book a tee time at moorland.
The toughest test we faced was on-site at the resort on the Moorland course. It was no surprise that we all shot numbers we’d like to forget. The course, however, was unforgettable. The P.B. Dye design challenges even the best players with water, pot and waste bunkers and elevation changes — which are hard to do in Myrtle Beach. After playing it, it’s easy to understand why it’s been ranked high.
Well maintained and in great off-season shape considering the recent heavy rains. A few pin placements were tough because of muddy edges on some of the greens. The ranger kept everything moving and we finished the round in the suggested time. Beautiful views.
And saved some money with some great tee-time booking deals.
